What is Robinwood Stocks?
Permissionless, fully-backed index baskets on Robinhood Chain — frozen or run by an agent.
Robinwood Stocks is the indexing layer of Robinhood Chain
(chain id 4663). It lets you own a slice of the market (the Magnificent
Seven, the AI buildout, the chain's own native tokens) as one ERC-20
token instead of many.
Each Robinwood Stocks basket is a mini-ETF built from first principles:
- A basket token is an ERC-20 fully backed by fixed raw quantities of its constituent tokens, held by its own immutable contract.
- Mint deposits the constituents in-kind; redeem burns the basket token and returns the constituents in-kind.
- No admin keys over funds. No oracle can ever touch an exit. Redeem always works.
The name comes from Latin robinwoodstocks, the flexible yew twig used for millennia to draw baskets. Each asset is a single twig; drawn together they are stronger, and like any hand-drawn basket, the draw can always be undone: in-kind redemption is in the name.
Two product lines, one core
Agentic baskets are living indices: an agent rotates the recipe toward what is working — inside an immutable on-chain policy it can never break — and pays the trading surplus to holders in USDG. Three first-party pilots are live on mainnet:
| Basket | Symbol | Strategy |
|---|---|---|
| Agentic Virtuals | WVIRT | Cross-sectional momentum over the Virtuals agent ecosystem |
| Agentic MAG7 | WMAG | The Magnificent 7, momentum-tilted instead of frozen |
| Crypto Twitter | WCT | The chain-native tape, rotated by momentum and attention |
Frozen baskets hold the same recipe forever, with zero oracles on-chain: MAG7, HOOD6, AI6 and factory-published curated baskets. Their weights drift with prices, like an unrebalanced ETF — documented behavior.
Both lines share the same vault core and the same promise: full backing as a contract invariant, redemption ungated forever. And both are open: anyone can publish a basket by burning $WOOD for a curator license — the platform is live, and the pilots were published through the same public contracts everyone else uses.
Alongside them ships RobinwoodZap, a stateless router that mints or redeems a basket in a single transaction from one asset (native ETH or USDG: an ETH deposit is simply swapped into the constituents inside the same transaction), routing over Uniswap v4 and Rialto. See the zap guide.
Why you can trust it (and where you shouldn't)
Robinwood Stocks's trust model is deliberately checkable rather than promised:
- Full backing is a contract invariant. Call
isFullyBacked()on any basket, live on Blockscout: the vault holds every constituent 1:1 against supply after any sequence of mints and redeems — and, on agentic baskets, after every rebalance. - Redeem is ungated, forever. No pause, no cap, no guardian power, no agent, no dead oracle can block a redeem. This is enforced in code and proven by dedicated tests.
- The admin surface is tiny and bounded. The guardian of the
first-party baskets (a Safe) can pause minting, move the supply cap
under an immutable ceiling, and change the fee recipient. Curated
baskets are guarded by a contract that can only raise the cap. An
agent can only
rebalance, inside hard ceilings. Nobody can withdraw funds, change a frozen recipe, or upgrade anything. Those functions do not exist.
Honesty section
The contracts are unaudited (heavily tested — unit, fuzz, invariant and mainnet-fork suites — but unaudited). Deposits are deliberately capped per basket while the protocol earns trust. The underlying Stock Tokens are debt instruments of Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Ltd and carry issuer risk that Robinwood Stocks inherits and cannot remove. Agentic baskets add bounded agent and strategy risk, published plainly — including a pilot whose backtest lost to holding on return and earns its keep on risk reduction instead. Read Risks before depositing.
